HOT SPOT - TAYLOR'S FALLS, MN
If you've been around Minnesota in the fall season, I'm sure you've heard of the infamous Taylor's Falls. It's a beautiful area for the avid or casual hiker, decorated with trees that speckle the cliffs with radiant color in the early autumn months. It is truly a sight to see.
Coffee and Lunch on Main Street
Mason and I have claimed it as one of our hot spots. It was in the small town at the base of the cliffs by the river where we made awkward, early dating conversations and held hands to keep warm. Our favorite stop after a cool hike is at a little Victorian house coffee shop called, Coffee Talk. Here you’ll find local artwork for sale, postcards, and really hot tea brewed by friendly baristas. Feel free to stop in for a few minutes, whenever we go they always enjoy a casual chat.
There are plenty of little gems on main street. A great place for lunch is Schooney’s Malt Shop and Pizzeria. Of course, Mason’s favorite go to for food is a hot pizza, so we’ve made a few stops here- they also give free ice cream samples for those who are curious! There are also jewelry and gem shops as well as an acupuncture center if you’re into that.
On the River
If you’re looking for more of a romantic form of sight seeing, check out the scenic boat tours from the recreation center. They have daily excursions, dining cruises, and family cruises available that last 45 or 80 minutes. This is not something I have experienced yet, but would love to hear reviews from those of you who have!

Overall, we love to spend our Saturday here checking out the fall colors, burning a few calories on a hike, and grabbing a warm cup of coffee or cider. If you're open to adventure and a crisp, fall date spot I suggest you try out Taylor's Falls!
