This letter is personal to me, but I’m pleased to share how grateful I am for the little things God has blessed us with. I hope you will find gratefulness in your life by reading this too…

Flurries again today, how strange to experience this in October.
I find myself in the fog of my mind this morning and it’s hard to focus on just one thing. I bought a cup of light roast to perk me up. Maybe writing of list of things I’m grateful for will help…
Today I am grateful for
Black, light roast coffee in a mug “for here”
Cuddles in bed this morning with my Mason
A surprise letter in the mail from my Aunt Karen..
I’m almost in tears as I rip open the envelope and read her letter. Tucked inside a fall greeting card are sweet words and a Starbucks gift card. The ways that you provide for us, Lord, I do not completely understand. The fact that you would call on my Aunt to bless us out of the blue with another gift card while we balance our finances is beyond me. You think of me often.
We are not poor, we are rich in spirit. We are so abundantly blessed and have such immense favor it blows my mind. Just this morning I looked out our apartment window and thought back to how we got here- the favor of God. Favor on the rate of our apartment, favor on my parking spot, favor in all the furniture we have received, favor with groceries, favor in friendship, favor in who you say we are. We are favored by you.
I’m stumped. I’m in awe. You bring me out of the fog of my mind to remind me just how blessed we are.
We never know what little acts of kindness may change the course of someone else's perspective. I think that being human, we take for granted the unconscious influences we hold for others. If my mind was transformed just by reading a letter in the mail today what can I do to brighten the lives of the people around me? Today, it will be a smile to a stranger, then maybe a compliment. Perhaps, these small steps will lead to the breaking of chains in that stranger's life. Embrace the influence you have to those around you and make it an inspiration.
