HOT SPOT - RUSSELL + HAZEL, NORTHLOOP

I've always been one for handwritten letters and writing on handmade paper so Russell + Hazel was right down my alley of wok and play.

With the cling of a bell on the door, Pearla and I walked into a world of paper and pens. This store was a high class letterpress with studio lighting, white walls, and black trim. Sprinkles of foliage and rose were found throughout the room where higher end stationary supplies were perfectly placed to create the aesthetic effect.

Established in 2003, the company brands itself with this-

"While free in spirit, the products represent a constant and complete dedication to quality."

Russell + Hazel is one of the sweetest, minimal, and friendly shops I've been to. The set up is pleasing to the eye and the services they provide are highly professional. In the Northloop location there is a personalized style bar where a client can request personalized greetings, invitations, placement cards, etc. Not only that, but one of the employees who works there has a British accent. If that's not a good enough reason to go I don't know what is.

Things to look out for in store:

• Smell the candles called, "Smells Like Boys," because they really do smell like boys (the good kind).

• Check out their greeting card section, very relateable

• Look and lift their different pens featured- different uses have different weights

• Make conversation with the employees. They know the city well and have great fashion taste.
